When it comes to reversing autoimmune thyroid disease, food is one of the most powerful tools you can use. Eating a wide range of colorful, whole plant-based foods provides the body with the essential nutrients that balance the immune system, the gut, and hormones.
Eating a rainbow of whole, plant-based foods is one of the most powerful ways to support detoxification and reverse autoimmune thyroid dysfunction. Every color in fruits, vegetables, and even nuts, seeds, and beans represents a different set of phytonutrients that help to reduce inflammation, support liver detox pathways, and restore immune balance.

Orange foods are rich in beta-carotene, a precursor to vitamin A. These foods support immune modulation, a healthy mucosal lining in the intestines, reduce oxidative stress, and help regulate thyroid hormone production. Beta-carotene also supports liver enzyme function helping to eliminate toxins stored in fat cells.

Many thyroid diseases affect the eyes and vision. I was diagnosed with Graves disease in 2007, and my biggest fear was the bulging eyes.
